Thoughts:
This is actually the first movie from Naruto series that I watched. I intended to watch to the movies once I finished the Naruto series. I still don't have a copy of the first movie of Naruto Shippuden so I am starting from this film.
ANYWAYYYY...
I like how this movie presented it's plot and it's intention to the viewers. We all know what kind of anime is Naruto and how much fight scenes and moral lessons did this anime gave.So i actually expected something that has a good and depressing story and fight scene. Add the fact that this movie was entitled as "Bonds" so it's obviously it's about Naruto and Sasuke once again (ohhh my ship <3)
My expectations were hit except for good fight scenes. This movie has a good animation (slightly different from the series but actually still a good one) yes, but I am talking about the quality of the fight scene itself. This movie has a very few fight scene of the main character. Naruto just threw a lot of random punches and used "Tajuu Kagebunshin no Jutsu".
But even though it lacks the right amount of fight scene, I like how the movie was presented. I think that that idea is actually intended. The movie wanted to inform how important the relationship between people. The staff, emphasized more of that lesson rather than the conflict between two people with deep connections and I think that is the beauty of the movie.
I would like to mention here how Sai had the best screentime in this movie. I guess it's because Sai was just introduced the same time when this movie was released. Sai looked so cool while fighting with the Sky Kingdom ninjas.
Animation: 10/10
As I said earlier, it's a bit different art style from the series but still a good animation. It still have it's most detailed animation and good angles to present the appropriate feel of the scene.
Soundtrack 10/10
The movie used the same OST from the anime series which is good. it is making the viewers connect the story from the ongoing series (that time, since this movie aired while the series is still airing). The ending song was entitled "No Rain, No Rainbow" by Home Made Kazoku. I really think that it fits to the anime. Maybe the fact that the Naruto Shippuden's first opening is a rap song, the vibe of the anime was known as a cool and manly type of anime. The song of Home Made Kazoku has the same vibe as the first opening "Hero's Come Back" by nobodyknows+.
Overall: 10/10
As usual, Naruto is a good anime. That is why this anime is greatly known not just in Japan but worldwide. Even non-anime watchers know about this anime. A recommended movie and good for watching with friends. But of course you should watch the series (seasons 3-6) first before the movie to avoid spoilers.
