Weathering with You Movie Review

Title: Tenki no Ko (Weathering with You)

Genre: Romance, Fantasy

Synopsis: Weathering with you is the story of a runaway teenage boy Hodoka and the “sunshine girl” Hina who were living in the world that rarely see a sunny day. They started to do a job as the sunshine girl who is giving sunlight in a certain place in a limited time without knowing that using Hina’s powers will make her closer as the “Weathering Maiden”.

Thoughts: 

"ANOTHER WORK OF MAKOTO SHINKAI?! HELL YEAH I AM GOING TO WATCH THAT STRAIGHT FROM THE CINEMA!" That's what I told everyone as soon as I knew that Makoto Shinkai-sensei will again produce another movie. And here it is, it became the most grossing anime film of 2019. Weathering with you is another legendary anime movie!

Surprisingly. I liked Your Name's plot than this movie "Weathering with You". I thought that the pacing of the flow of the story is too slow that it made me feel bored in some scenes but when it comes with animation, it's a different story. 

I would like to mention here, I am so in love with Hina's younger brother, Nagi. He's too adorable.

Animation: 11/10

Hell yeah! Have you seen Garden of Words? 5 Centimeters Per Second? How about Your Name? Don't worry This movie has a better animation and cinematography than those three movies that I mentioned. CoMix Wave Films made a good Computer Graphics (CG) in doing the film. Most of the scenes of the movie was made of CG but you won't actually notice it. THAT'S THE THING! I am somewhat disliking CGs in anime and prefers 2D animation but this movie is one of the films that makes me forget that preference.

Soundtrack: 10/10

I haven't heard the whole soundtrack so I will base my review with the movie edits. First of firsts, RADWIMPS! They sung for the theme of the movie! Good voice and quality of the melody for the film. I love it!

Second the BGM. I guess Shinkai-sensei asked the same orchestra from Your Name to produce for his new movie? It is because it has the same feels while listening to the BGM of Weathering with you. And the melody of the piece are almost the same with the previous films of Shinkai-sensei but then it is still very good for me!

Overall: 10/10

AN EXCELLENT MOVIE. You won't be disappointed with the whole film, from the animation up until the plot and the ending! The movie will satisfy your cravings against Makoto Shinkai's open ended for "Your Name". Oh, take note of that *winks*
